Pictured Above: The May 2026 Library Newsletter announces that all library books are due by May 15th and encourages students to settle any lost or damaged book fees via RevTrak to remain eligible for end-of-year activities. Celebrating a successful year with a total circulation of 1,834 books, the newsletter also highlights the Harris County Public Library’s dinosaur-themed Summer Reading Program, which runs from June 1 to August 1 with a community goal of 7 million minutes read. To kickstart summer reading, the library recommends titles such as Camp, The Firefly Summer, All Summer Long, and One Crazy Summer, concluding with a warm "See you next year!" for all students.

Meet Your Librarian!

A young woman with long brown hair and glasses, wearing a teal shirt and a yellow cardigan, stands in a library setting with bookshelves in the background.

Hi there! I’m Mrs. Black, your librarian at NMS. This will be my 18th year in education, and my 6th year as school librarian.

A Miami native, I’ve got a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Library Science from Texas Woman's University.

My motto? Libraries are for everyone! I love building a collection that reflects the amazing diversity of our student body. And don’t forget to say hello to Bowser, our bearded dragon - she's always ready for a visit!
