- Meet The Staff

Hello and welcome to my page!

It is both an honor and a privilege to represent Michael R. Null Middle School as the Campus Instructional Specialist for English Language Arts and Social Studies. This will be my seventh year in education and I bring a lot of experience with me to this new role. For example, I have worked in grades 6-8 teaching both English Language Arts and Social Studies. In 2012, I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. In December 2016, I graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Triple Literacy. I currently hold an ESL certification, 4-8 ELAR/SS certification, EC-6 Generalist certification, Reading Specialist certification and I am in the process of completing my professional doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Capella University.

I have a passion for education. I have always wanted to be an educator and even though I am going to miss working with the students in my own class, I believe my calling is to share my passion with other teachers so they can feel empowered to work hard for their students. My favorite educational quote is “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today” by Malcolm X. I believe that education is one of the major keys to success and the more you learn the better off you will be for the ever-changing future.

Thanks again for visiting my page,

Hello and welcome to my page!

Why do I work in education?  I teach the youth of Sheldon because I was once a student in Sheldon who was trying to find his way.  Like all kids, I was trying to find out who I was, what I was good at, what I liked, what career I might pursue, and what kind of person I was going to be.  As students face all those questions, especially in an ever-changing and social media driven world, I feel that they need positive role models to guide them along the way.  I want to possibly become one of those mentors who make a difference in your child's life.

My journey started at Royalwood Elementary for those fun early learning years.  After that, I attended Sheldon Intermediate for 5th and 6th grade before moving to King Junior High (now KMS) for 7th and 8th grade.  I attended C.E. King High school from 1992 to 1996 where I was involved in many activities.  At King, I participated in baseball, track, cross country, student council, King Christian Union, UIL Mathematics, and Honor Society to name a few.  I graduated #4 in my class with a GPA of 4.94 and earned a full academic scholarship to several colleges.  I am also proud to be part of the 1996 C.E. King State Champion Track and Field team - my event was the 3200 meter run (2 mile).

After high school, I attended McNeese State University in Louisiana where I majored in Chemical Engineering.  I moved back to Houston and completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics before obtaining my teaching certification.  I recently earned a Master's Degree in Education from Lamar University.  I believe that it is important to continue to challenge yourself and to never stop learning.

Here at Null Middle School, I have taught Science, Math, coached Cross Country and Track, been a team leader, department chair, and now an Instructional Coach.  As an Instructional Coach, I work closely with the administration, teachers, and students to enhance their learning experience and to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be successful.

Thank you for visiting!
