Letter to Sheldon ISD Staff from Superintendent King Davis

These raises will help keep Sheldon ISD competitive with our neighboring school districts while also providing one of the highest pay increases in the greater Houston and surrounding areas.

For example, all current teachers and certified professionals will be receiving salary increases ranging from 10-15% with a minimum $6,000 increase in pay!

In addition, salaries for beginning teachers have increased from $53,000 to $58,500.

Our board members value each of you tremendously – as was evident tonight by their unanimous decision to provide these salary increases. We are thankful for their continued support and leadership in helping us retain quality teachers and staff members.

Below are a few sample salary examples based on the board-approved salary increases:

 

Example 1

Teacher or Certified Professional entering sixth year (you will receive the greater of the following)

Base salary + 12% = new salary     OR     Base salary + $6,000 = new salary

 

Example 2

Teacher or Certified Professional entering 12th year (you will receive the greater of the following)

Base salary + 13% = new salary     OR     Base salary + $6,000 = new salary

 

Example 3

Teacher or Certified Professional entering third year (you will receive the greater of the following)

Base salary + 10% = new salary     OR     Base salary + $6,000 = new salary

 

Example 4

Teacher or Certified Professional entering 20th year (you will receive the greater of the following)

Base salary + 15% = new salary     OR     Base salary + $6,000 = new salary

                                     

Please note – these salary increases will go into effect on the first pay period for each employee’s pay calendar (i.e. 187-day teachers and most paraprofessionals = Sept. 5, 2019). For additional questions or concerns, please email our Personnel Services Department.
